The available subjects are in two main categories, Junior and Senior. Each category is then divided into compulsory and choice subjects.   In the Junior section, the compulsory subjects are: Religious Education, Irish, English, French, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Pastoral Care, Computers, Physical Education and Civics. In addition, four of the following choice subjects must be studied: Art, Business Studies, Classics, German, Home Economics, Italian, Keyboard Skills, Metalwork, Music, Technical Graphics and Woodwork.   The senior compulsory subjects are as follows: Religious Education, Irish, English, Mathematics, Computers, Physical Education and Career Guidance. The senior choice subjects are: Accounting, Agricultural Science, Applied Mathematics, Art, Biology, Business Organisation, Chemistry, Construction Studies, French, Geography, German, History, Home Economics, Physics, Physics&Chemistry, Metalwork, Music and Technical Graphics.   In addition, three other special programmes are offered at St.Nathy's: Students may choose the Transition Year programme, the Leaving Cert.
